Buffalo, NY, brought all the energy and devotion to welcoming The Funeral Portrait with support from The Rasmus, Archers, and Glasswaves. The Rec Room had a long line from the door, with people crowding to the front of the stage, and anticipation built as the music was about to start.
First up was Glasswaves. Seeing friends and family in another city close to home means a lot to them. Recently, on April 19, 2025, Glasswaves released their debut EP, “It Was Always Meant to End,” which is gaining popularity rapidly with new listeners and fans every day. The crowd was really into their set, singing along to all the songs and interacting with the crowd to get some movement going. It was Brendan’s (Bass Player) birthday on the day of the show, and it looks like he had a blast playing a show close to home, being able to do what he loves on stage, and being around his loved ones for his birthday. If you can’t catch Glasswaves on the “A Hex on the Nation Tour” with The Funeral Portrait, The Rasmus, and Archers, don’t worry; they have many more shows coming up. Their next tour is a Summer Tour with Weeping Wound, Dead7 (on Select Dates), and Set For Tomorrow (on Select Dates), starting in Nashville, Tennessee, on June 12th. After that, they hit the road supporting Elijah on the “Road to Rock Fest” tour with Downswing, starting July 10th in Columbus, Ohio. If you’re a fan of Motionless in White, Bad Omens, Bring Me The Horizon, etc, this band is for you! Be sure to catch Glasswaves as soon as you can.
Next up was Archers taking the stage. Their stage presence got the crowd going and moving. As soon as they walked on the stage, the crowd got hyped up, and throughout the set, the crowd sang along with them. They also performed their brand-new song, “Better Off,” which got the crowd excited because they have a new EP coming out June 13th called “Temporary High,” followed by a headline tour with support from Rivals, Of Virtue, and Dead Eyes that starts July 5th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Following Archers was The Rasmus, traveling from Helsinki, Finland. Many new fans discovered The Rasmus from being on Octane, playing their latest single, “Creatures of Chaos.” The single helped the band gain more new fans. It was their first time playing in Buffalo, NY, and they had a warm welcome from all Buffalo fans who sang along with the band. The Rasmus all looked very grateful to perform in a new city, and I have a great feeling that they will be back sooner rather than later.
All these amazing bands were pumping up the crowds’ energy and excitement to share a devotion to The Funeral Portrait. They have grown so much from their released album, “Greetings from Suffocate City,” the stadium tour with Five Finger Death Punch and Marilyn Manson, and their hard work to get to where they are today. After years of creating amazing music for their new album, seeing where they are now is impressive. Octane still plays some of their new or fan favorites like “Hearse for Two, Suffocate City featuring Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills, and Holy Water, with a new edition featuring Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch. For three members (Cody, Rob, and Homer), it was a show they also got to play close to home in Rochester, NY. A few days ago, they released their newest song/hymn, “Skinny Lies.” If you’re a fan of My Chemical Romance, Motionless in White, Paramore, etc., this band is for you. They are on a massive tour right now, so be sure to go to the nearest city and show them your devotion!
