The Devil Wears Prada with Greyhaven, Like Moths to Flames, SeeYouSpaceCowboy and Silent Planet at Janus Live in St. Petersburg, FL.

The Devil Wears Prada touring the United States for the second time this year made their way back to Florida again this past weekend and headlined the legendary venue Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, Florida bringing along bands Greyhaven, Like Moths To Flames, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, and Silent Planet.

The first band on stage to begin the night was Greyhaven. After the release of their EP “Stereo Grief” earlier this year in April, I was super excited to be able to see them perform. They performed a mixed discography with songs off their 2018 album “Empty Black”, “In a Room Where Everything Dies” off of their 2022 album “This Bright and Beautiful World” and of course their songs off of their 2024 EP “Stereo Grief”. They sounded amazing and vocalist Brent Mills didn’t miss a beat, they were super fun and I really hope to be able to see them again in the near future.

After Greyhaven got the crowd going, it was time for something a little bit heavier with Like Moths To Flames set to go on. LMTF is another band I haven’t seen and was super excited to see perform live. Not only did they sound massive and absolutely worth the hype of waiting to see live, their vocalist, was also hilarious all set, cracking jokes and the band just having fun. Moths played a super diverse setlist with songs off of 6 different albums in their 7-song set with two songs being off their 2024 album “The Cycles Of Trying To Cope”. I’d love to see LMTF again soon and hear even more of their latest record live.

The third band to perform is a band I’ve seen multiple times and somehow gets better and better each time I see them. I’ve only been able to see them in small venues prior to this show so it was a very different experience being able to stand in a photo pit for them but that didn’t change the fact SeeYouSpaceCowboy turned the show into a hardcore show for the whole duration they were on stage and the crowd went nuts for them. They sounded absolutely incredible and continue to move up the rankings for top live bands I’ve seen. They bring so much energy and stage presence and never fail to put on a memorable and fun set.

Before The Devil Wears Prada there’s still another band to go on before them with direct support for the tour being Silent Planet. Silent Planet played just over the bridge in Tampa at the Orpheum at the beginning of the year putting on one of the best sets that I have had the honor of seeing live so of course I was stoked that they would be touring with The Devil Wears Prada. Silent Planet never fails to put on a phenomenal live set full of energy. Vocalist Garrett Russell sounded massive and continues to be one of the best live vocalists I’ve seen perform. They played a setlist very full of songs off of their 2023 record “Superbloom” while also performing a couple of songs off “Everything Was Sound”, “Iridescent”, and performed Panopticon for the first time on this tour.

Finally, after four bands it was time for The Devil Wears Prada to perform for the first time in a very long time at the legendary venue Jannus Live and the crowd was ready. TDWP began their set heavy with Mammoth off of their 2011 album “Dead Throne” leading into Watchtower, Danger: Wildman, and Born To Lose. Although playing a lot of songs off of their record “Color Decay” similar to their shows and tours over the past couple of years, they played a setlist consisting of some songs they haven’t played in a very long time and it was super fun to hear them play live including a fan vote between “Reptar, King of The Ozone” and “HTML Rulez D00d” where Reptar would win the fan vote for the St. Pete show. Prada would go on a run of heavy songs playing Termination, Escape, Reptar, and then Dez Moines where they would bring out Garrett Russell, afterwards though they’d go on a run of slower and more emotional songs where guitarist and secondary vocalist Jeremy DePoyster gave a speech on how life sucks but we have to look at the bright parts and keep going before playing an acoustic cover of their song off of “The Act” Chemical. After the run of slower songs, Prada would pick back up the pace playing Sacrifice where they would use confetti for the breakdown and then leave the stage. They would shortly return for a two song encore performing a couple old songs from 2006 and 2007, “Dogs Can Grow Beards All Over” and “Hey John, What’s Your Name Again?” Of the three times I’ve been able to see The Devil Wears Prada this was the best I’ve seen them yet and the most fun they’ve seemed to have performing of the times I’ve seen them. I can’t wait to see them again and The Devil Wears Prada is Eternal.
