On March 29, 2025, Nathaniel Rateliff performed at MGM Music Hall at Fenway. This sold-out show attracted thousands of fans who came to see this exceptional rock’n’roll and country music artist, perform an amazing show in Boston.
Hannah Cohen, a friend of Nathaniel’s, opened the show. Hannah is on tour to promote her gorgeous new album, Earth Star Mountain. A talented artist with a unique sound that resonates with many listeners.
Cohen’s best songs are “Dissolving”, “The Crying Game”, “All I Wanted”, “Watching You Fall”, “Don’t Say”. “The Crying Game” which is known for its emotional resonance, makes it a standout track in her discography. Her last song “Don’t Say” is known for its melancholic vibe, perfect for these moments of introspection.
Hannah Cohen’s fourth album, Earth Star Mountain, coincidentally was released on the day of the concert. Written with her collaborator Sam Ownes it is fantastic with delicate melodies and strong vocals, just in time for spring to bloom.
At 9:30 p.m. Nathaniel Rateliff hit the stage. The artist came to perform to great fanfare from a very enthusiastic and loving audience. He almost seemed like a whiskey drinking Pentecostal preacher singing to his flock with his own combustible style of Soul, Americana, Rock and Roll tinged with a little funk. He is known for his enthusiastic live shows, and this was the second of two sold out shows.
The Night Sweats – a band with an organ player, three horn players, a drummer, guitarist and bassist – were electric, giving Rateliff the background needed to truly showcase himself and make musical magic. From Denver Colorado, Natheniel was promoting his new album “South of Here,” and this music is amazing. What an exceptional night!
