On March 26, 2025, Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, MA, welcomed Midnight North.
It was the band’s first tour in almost a year. Elliot Peck, the co-founder of the group, took
time off in 2024 to recover after doctors discovered a tumor in her abdomen. The band
cancelled several shows and shifted a series of co-headlining dates with The Mother
Hips to Grahame Lesh & The North.
Formed in early 2012 by singer/songwriters Grahame Lesh and Elliott Peck, Midnight
North is an American rock band based in San Francisco, California. The band features
Elliot Peck (guitar/vocals), Grahame Lesh (guitar/vocals), Connor O’Sullivan (bass), and
Nathan Graham (drummer/banjo).
At Soundcheck Studios hundreds of fans attended the concert to see the band’s
performance but most importantly to honor Elliott Peck, returning on stage after
recovering from cancer.
“It is all about how suffering through a major tragedy can open the door to your
salvation,” explains Elliott. “You can find beauty on the other side. There’s always hope.”
The group played a series of songs from different albums such as Scarlet Skie (2015),
Live at Terrapin Crossroads (2016), There’s Always a Story (2021), Diamonds in the
Zodiac (2023) and Might Be in The Sunrise (2025). Since forming 2012, Midnight North
has released three Eps, five studios’ albums, one live album, two remix albums, 18
singles, and 10 remix singles.
The quartet is built around the core duo of Lesh and Peck, with Peck infusing country
influences while Lesh brings the rock.
The group is touring to promote their studio album Might Be in The Sunrise released in
2025. The band’s fifth studio album Diamonds in the Zodiac, released in November
10, 2024, via the Americana Vibes label is a follow-up to its acclaimed 2021 album,
There’s Always a Story (its first to include Nathan Graham, who joined the band in
2017).
As Peck said about the last album: “These songs and lyrics are about being a band of
musicians on the road away from home…” She continued: “Might Be in the Sunrise, is.
an example of Midnight North in raw from. We were not fresh off a tour or a recording
session, nor did we play a perfect show, but we felt the show was worthy of release
because it captured the sound of 5 musicians filled with gratitude to return to the stage
after an incredibly challenging year. We experienced heavy losses and serious illness
that kept us mostly off the road in 2024, but the hope of reuniting through music kept us
moving forward. The emotion was audibly woven throughout this special return. We hope
you enjoy the performance and can hear the appreciation we all feel to have music in
our lives and the open arms of our fans welcoming us back.”
