The summer is over. In the New England area, fall begins with the autumnal equinox. It is the time when the warm, stable weather of summer gives way to colder, more erratic weather conditions. The leaves start to change color and are ready to fall all around. From the best places to pick up sweet apple cider donuts or do Halloween-themed crafts to cultural celebrations, the fall festivals and fairs top the list of family-friendly fall activities.
On Saturday October 12, 2024, Marshfield, a town in Plymouth County, South Shore of Massachusetts, welcomed the Levitate Flannel Jam Music Festival.
Founded in 2003 as a community-focused surf and skate shop that steadily grew through locals and grassroots market, many thousands of fans attended the one day event which was a smaller version of the large Levitate Festival held in July. Trampled by Turtles, one of the most popular bluegrass bands of the moment performed as a headliner. In addition to this very special headlining act, the lineup also included well known musicians such as: Dave Simonett – Dave Carroll – Erik Berry – Tim Saxhaug – Ryan Young – Eamonn Mc Lain – Margo Price – Jeremy Ivey – Evan Honer – Hans Williams – Zack Green – Dani Green – Brian Seligman – Jesse Baker – Andy Hubright, etc.
Starting at noon and ending at 8:00 p.m. those artists performed on two different stages: Hoot Stage and Holl Stage.

Looking at the ambiance, it was an amazing night of music. The atmosphere was phenomenal. It was more than entertainment; it was a celebration of community, creativity, and faith. More than music, the festival was creative in another way: it was offering fun activities with many vendors displaying their merchandise to sell and the possibility for the attendees to enjoy great food, great music, plenty of artcrafts for sales, and more.
“We love that Levitate can celebrate this community through the uplifting power of creativity,” says Levitate owner Dan Hassett. “It’s incredible to see what has grown from local roots and we’re excited to see this year’s event come to life with unique curation based off of our fan’s recommendations, very special headliners we’re grateful to work with, and we’re particularly proud that the festival can serve as a platform for emerging area artists.”
Saturday night, the atmosphere was electrifying at Levitate Flannel Jam. It was so great to see many thousands of people dancing, jumping, and singing in front of the artists’ stage. Men, women, children…all were there to enjoy the moment.
