On Saturday, July 20, Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel had performed at The Cut in Gloucester, Massachusetts. After a successful Midwest run alongside Little Feat, the American rock band formed by lead vocalist and guitarist Lowell George who died in 1979; the stop in Gloucester was the final destination of Duane Betts and his group for the summer tour 2024 in the U.S. The show with Wilson & Walsh – the duo of The National Reserve’s Sean Walsh and folk vocalist Samoa Wilson opened was terrific.
Listening to the repertoire, the music was just too good. It was a mix of Blues, Rock, Southern Rock, and Country with combining vocal and instrumental sounds for beauty of form and emotional expression. Fans of great music, the public was crazy from the beginning to the end of the show.
It was a magical night. Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel’s energetic and captivating live show was phenomenal. Starting with “Saints to Sinners”, the group finished the show with “Waiting on a
Song” which featured some Allman-style guitar trade-offs between Betts and Stachela.
