The electrifying rock band, Daughtry, has embarked on a captivating musical journey with their highly anticipated Bare Bones Tour. Stripping away the production that typically accompanies their performances, this tour showcases the raw talent and soulful energy of Chris Daughtry and his bandmates in an intimate setting. The stage was set up as a living room type of jam with candles, plants and colored LED lighting. The performance was bathed in colorful lights and fog which added to the intimacy of the night.
The concert was a unique and unforgettable evening for fans of all ages. With stripped-down versions of their chart-topping hits, such as "World on Fire", "Life After You", and "Heavy is the Crown", and lesser-known gem "Cry for Help" from their discography, Daughtry's powerful vocals and heartfelt lyrics took center stage. They also performed two covers, Chris Isaak's, "Wicked Game" and their chart topper, Journey's, "Separate Ways". Accompanied by acoustic guitars and minimalistic instrumentation, each song was reimagined in a way that allowed the audience to connect with the music on a deeper level.
At several points in the show the audience sang along, danced and cheered. Chris was battling a cold and still gave an epic performance. If he never spoke about it no one would have ever known. He spoke between a few songs about mental health and about being yourself. A message that everyone needs to hear at some point in their life.
I purchased tickets for this show well in advance since I was truly looking forward to it. It beat all of my expectations. While Chris Daughtry may have had his beginnings on American Idol he's proven time after time that this is what he was born to do.
